Who doesn’t love a good donut once in a while? Sitting on a terrace or a porch (if I had one) on a warm Spring day with a cup of coffee, a delicious sweet treat and a good book is an idyllic way to spend a lazy Sunday morning. Days like this newspapers are not allowed. Who wants to fill their head with depressing and tragic news to destroy the paradise?
Until I get the house with the terrace or the porch…I can dream, can’t I?

I saw these donuts on an episode of the Travel Channel’s Street Eats and this was my attempt at recreating them. Before I purchased my DSLR, these photos really don’t do them justice.

This version from Samoa is low in sugar content so a perfect indulgence for breakfast. Topped with a coconut syrup, they are indeed very hard to resist.
